Update Simation Training Centre Emergency, Policy and Procedures concerning COVID – 19. Based on information available from numerous Institutes and sources, including the South African Government Health Services, SIMATION has outlined the Policy and Procedures regarding the current COVID-19 situation in the following document. We will continuously monitor and evaluate the changing situation, developing measures as well as providing guidance to protect the health of our customers and employees. In this documents, we have detailed the extensive measures implemented at the Simation Training Centre in Germiston and all other off site Training Facilities used by Simation.

Policy and Procedures concerning COVID – 19. SIMATION will screen every person entering our Training Centre for symptoms of COVID-19. SIMATION will supply a cloth face cover to every person entering the centre SIMATION will limit the participants per course at our Training Centre at Rand Airport in Germiston to ensure the distance between candidates encourages the prevention of infection. Do NOT use a face mask meant for a health care worker. SIMATION’s policy is to: Reinforce frequent hand washing and sanitation and procure needed supplies. Prepare and maintain hand washing stations with soap and water. Place alcohol-based hand sanitizers in each classroom, at the entrance and exits, and near tea rooms and toilets. Clean and disinfect facilities and classrooms and especially water and sanitation facilities. Facilities are to be disinfected at least once a day, particularly surfaces that are touched by many people (railings, tables, door and window handles, teaching and learning aids etc.) Implement social distancing practices that includes: Staggering the beginning and end of the day Create space for learners' desks to be at least one meter apart Teach and model creating space and avoiding unnecessary touching. Establish procedures if students or staff become unwell. Plan ahead with local authorities, and update emergency contact lists. Ensure a procedure for separating a sick student or staff from those who are well – without creating stigma – and a process for informing employer or family, and consulting with health care authorities wherever possible. Students / staff may need to be referred directly to a health facility, depending on the situation / context, or sent home. Share procedures with staff, and students ahead of time. Promote information sharing. Coordinate and follow guidelines from the national health and education authorities. Share known information with staff and students, providing updated information on the disease situation, including prevention and control efforts at training centre. Reinforce that learners should alert their employer and Simation and if someone at their place of residence has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Posters to be placed on notice boards, in restrooms, and other central locations. Adapt policies where appropriate. Develop flexible attendance and sick leave policies that encourage students and staff to stay home when sick or when caring for sick family members. Identify critical job functions and positions, and plan for alternative coverage by cross training staff. Plan for possible training calendar changes. Monitor staff / learner attendance. Alert local health authorities of student and staff absenteeism due to respiratory illnesses. Plan for continuity of learning in the case of absenteeism / sick leave or temporary training centre closures. Work with social workers to identify and support students and staff who exhibit signs of distress. Support vulnerable populations |

SIMATION CHECKLIST FOR TEACHERS AND STAFF Promote regular hand washing and hygiene. Ensure soap and water is available at hand washing stations Encourage frequent and thorough washing of hands for at least 40 seconds. Place hand sanitizers in toilets, classrooms and near entrance and exits. Clean and disinfect Simation buildings, classrooms and especially water and sanitation facilities at least once a day, particularly surfaces that are touched by many people (railings, doors and window handles, teaching and learning aids etc.). Use 60% or higher alcohol based hand sanitizer. Provide appropriate protection equipment for cleaning staff Increase air flow and ventilation where climate allows (open windows) Ensure trash is removed daily and disposed of safely
